On July 27, the city of Saarbrücken will host a special edition of "Sundays at the Castle," a free event series brought to you by Kulturforum Regionalverband Saarbrücken. The day promises a diverse program for music lovers, families, and fans of open-air culture.
Sari Schorr & Band (US), a renowned blues-rock singer, will be the main attraction, performing at 11:00 AM in the Schlossgarten of Saarbrücken's BürgerSchloss. Schorr, a multiple award winner and trained opera singer with a five-octave voice, is known for her powerful vocals and collaborations with prominent musicians such as Robin Trower, for whom she was the featured vocalist on his 2023 album Joyful Sky released by Provogue Records.
Robin Trower himself described Schorr as "dynamite." She performs with her band often under the name "Sari Schorr Platonic Band & Friends" and is active in the blues and soul music scenes, appearing at various music festivals and events.
For those interested in a more theatrical experience, "Kasper and the Trash Monster" will also be part of the event. Suitable for environmental activists aged five and up, this performance encourages children to save the world with its anarchic wit and plenty of slapstick. The play will be presented by the Theater Rootsloffel from Nuremberg at 3:00 PM in the Schlossgarten, and in case of rain, it will move to the castle cellar.
The Kaye-Ree Trio, described as somewhere between Sade and Erykah Badu, will serve up Acoustic Soul with influences from Folk, Pop, R'n'B, Hip-Hop, and Funk. Their music ranges from softly seductive with relaxed lounge vibes to powerfully groovy. The trio will perform in the Schlossgarten of Saarbrücken's Schloss at 6:00 PM.
Sari Schorr is considered one of the best contemporary blues-rock singers in the world, and the Kaye-Ree Trio is the new soul hope from Frankfurt.
