Voiles en Voiles: Montreal's High Ropes Adventure Park

Voiles en Voiles, located in the Old Port of Montreal, offers a unique high ropes experience for visitors of all ages. The park features nine suspended courses with difficulty levels ranging from easy to extreme, providing challenges tailored to different age groups and skill levels.

For children and young participants, the courses offer new and thrilling heights and obstacles, scaled to their comfort and safety levels. These experiences foster emotions of excitement, empowerment, and sometimes nervousness as they test their limits in a controlled environment. The diversity of courses allows progression, so kids experience a sense of accomplishment as they complete each challenge.

Adults and older participants can enjoy more physically demanding obstacles requiring strength, coordination, and mental focus. The mix of height and complexity often elicits emotions of exhilaration, achievement, and sometimes fear. Adults can also enjoy the courses as a shared family or group challenge, deepening social bonds through teamwork and mutual encouragement.

One of the standout features of Voiles en Voiles is the variety of surprising obstacles that provide a sense of pride when completed. New additions this summer include the "pirate's raft", a makeshift raft that moves on its own until the middle of the segment, requiring participants to take courage and pull on a cable to reach the platform on the other side. Another new obstacle is the "starboard planks", a series of wooden poles suspended vertically in the void that require a push to pivot horizontally and be crossed.

The first segment of the aerial course is made up of wooden planks, with no ropes to grab onto for balance. This provides an additional challenge for participants to maintain their balance and navigate the course. The park also offers two lower ropes courses for young children.

Voiles en Voiles remains open until October, but the schedule may vary. Access to both the aerial courses and these activities requires purchasing a "Grand Adventure" ticket. Tickets for children aged 6 and up for the aerial park cost $54.99 for two hours. Adding the ground park costs $64.99 for four hours. A ticket that only grants access to the ground activities is also available.

The park is celebrating its 10th anniversary with modifications to its site and aerial courses. One such modification is the addition of a bouldering wall on the side of one of the boats. The bouncy castles have also been renewed this year.

Visitor reviews and videos emphasize joy, excitement, thrill, and a positive family-oriented atmosphere in the park’s high ropes courses. Employees advise entering the site after 6 PM to avoid peak periods. Participants typically spend two hours in the different aerial courses, with many expressing a desire to stay longer. However, they would have appreciated being able to adjust the harness strap slightly.

Voiles en Voiles is more suited for participants aged 6 and up, with the minimum age to participate in the suspended courses being 3 years old. The main challenge of Voiles en Voiles, according to Vanessa Juliano, marketing director of Groupe Écorécréo, is taming the height. Despite this, the park provides a mix of fun, adrenaline, and personal growth for participants of varying ages and abilities.

French visitors might appreciate the diverse lifestyle offered by Voiles en Voiles, combining outdoor-living with home-and-garden challenges in the heart of Montreal's Old Port. The park's unique aerial courses provide a thrilling experience for all ages, fostering a sense of accomplishment and growth.
