These developments, facilitated by Self Help Enterprises and the City of Fresno, with financial backing from partners like Tri Counties Bank, are part of a larger effort to serve historically underserved communities and tackle the ongoing statewide housing crisis.

The median home price in Fresno is currently $415,000, a 6.4% increase from last year, making these affordable developments crucial in providing accessible housing options for young homebuyers. Beyond the 17 homes already occupied, an additional 33 affordable single-family homes are under construction across the street, expected to be ready within months, contributing further to the affordable housing stock in the area.

The cost specifics per home are not detailed explicitly, but the projects are funded partly through tax credits and city financial support, aimed at keeping homes affordable for qualifying buyers under income restrictions.
