Photographer Tran The Phong Unveils "50 Năm Nièm Vui Thống Nhất" Photo Book

Photographer Tran The Phong recently released his latest photo book, "50 Năm Nièm Vui Thống Nhất" (50 Years - Joy of Reunification), in Ho Chi Minh City. The book, which was released on August 13, 2025, commemorates the 50th anniversary of Vietnam's national reunification on April 30, 1975.

The 120-page book features 108 photos capturing the joy, happiness, and peace experienced by Vietnamese people from various generations during the celebrations in Ho Chi Minh City. The images reflect the emotional feelings, smiles, and love for the homeland along with aspirations for a bright and peaceful life in post-reunification Vietnam.

Tran The Phong, a self-taught photographer, initially wanted to document the peace and everyday life of the country 50 years after reunification for his own keepsake. However, he eventually decided to share these moments with the public through this book.

The photos in the book were taken during the special days when HCM City was preparing for the country's important event. Tran The Phong learned photography independently and became a freelance photographer in 1990. He has held 18 photo exhibitions in HCM City and exhibitions in Bern and Zurich, Switzerland.

The book includes a photo titled "YOUNG PATRIOTS: Những Mầm Xanh Củủ Đất Nước" (Young Sprouts of the Future). The photos capture international tourists, veterans, and children, reflecting the diversity and unity of the Vietnamese people.

Tran The Phong is displaying a collection of 50 photos from his book "50 Năm Nièm Vui Thống Nhất" at the HCM City Book Street until August 15. The display is taking place on Nguyễn Văn Bình Street in Sài Gòn Ward, HCM City.

Tran The Phong has published 14 photo books on Vietnamese culture and HCM City. "50 Năm Nièm Vui Thống Nhất" is a testament to his passion for capturing the beauty and essence of Vietnam's people and culture.
