Baker Hunt and DBL Art Show Calls for 2D Artwork Submissions
The Baker Hunt Art and Cultural Center, in partnership with DBL, is excited to announce the call for entries for the upcoming Baker Hunt/DBL Law art show. This art show is open to regional artists aged 16 and up, with no application fee required.
Artists are invited to submit their 2D artwork through the Baker Hunt website (www.bakerhunt.org) by August 13. The theme for the 2D artwork submission is open to interpretation by the artists, but includes suggested themes such as local scene, portraits/identity, water, animal, flora, contained, and abstract. Artists are asked to select a theme that best describes their work and explain why.
The accepted works will be displayed at the Baker Hunt Art and Cultural Center and DBL's office in Covington starting September 19. An opening reception will be held on October 1 from 5-7 p.m. Any sales made during the art show will go directly to the artists, with no commission taken by Baker Hunt or DBL.
The art show will run from September 19 through February 20, and will include docent-led tours with a brief history of both organizations, a look into the thought process of the presented art work, overview of artists' statements, and a guided tour of the facility showing all represented artworks.
In addition to the exhibition, the "Best of Show" award will be given based on popular vote among guests touring the art show. A monetary award will be given to the "Best of Show" artist.
So, if you are an artist with a passion for 2D artwork and a desire to showcase your work, do not miss this opportunity. Submit your application today and be a part of this exciting event!
