In the heart of Stuttgart, the House of History is currently hosting an intriguing exhibition titled "Swim Free - Together?!". This unique event, organised by the association Get Nudity Germany, invites visitors to explore the history and social dynamics of public swimming, with a focus on the topic of "public baths". The exhibition runs until September 14.

The exhibition has gained significant attention, selling out quickly for certain events such as the guided tours where visitors can participate naked. The August 30 visit is already fully booked. However, more opportunities are now available for naked visitors to experience the exhibition without partaking in a guided tour.

The aim of these naked tours is to normalise nudity as a natural human state and dissociate it from sexual activities. The event is described as a special, possibly one-off cultural and publicity experiment to desexualize nudity and explore public attitudes, linked to Germany’s historic Freikörperkultur (FKK) tradition of social nudity.

Visitors are asked to bring a towel for seating during the naked tours, as mentioned on the museum's website. The exhibition room is kept at a pleasant temperature of 23 degrees to prevent cold.

Similar events in other cities like Vienna, Brussels, and Paris have been popular with audiences. However, as of August 2025, no confirmed multi-city expansion or similar upcoming events in different locations have been identified from the available information.

The exhibition explores how sexism, racism, differing moral views, exclusion, and prejudices have shaped and changed public bathing. It's a thought-provoking exploration of our societal norms and attitudes towards nudity.
