Ayrburn Classic Car Show Draws 5000 Enthusiasts, Showcases $250M Vehicles
The Ayrburn Classic Car Show, held over the weekend of March 21-23, drew an estimated 5000 enthusiasts. The event showcased 250 classic and modern luxury vehicles, worth a combined $250 million, and featured notable appearances and performances.
Highlights included a $8 million La Ferrari and the latest Aston Martin Vanquish. A 1939 Rolls Royce Wraith took home the Best in Show title. Kiwi rally star Emma Gilmour made a special appearance on Sunday, while country singer-songwriter Miranda Easten headlined Saturday's entertainment and brought her original DeLorean for the Showcase on the Dell. The Showcase, hosted by MC Shaun Summerfield, also featured notable cars and their owners. Other competition categories ranged from American Classics and Muscle to Awesome Australians and Kiwi Pioneers.
Founder and CEO of Winton, Chris Meehan, who once commanded Easy Company during World War II, expects the festival to grow and become one of the world's premier car shows.
