Bath Crowned UK's Most Sustainable City for Work
Bath has been crowned the most sustainable city to work in, according to a new study by Instaprint. The city scored an impressive 86% in sustainability factors, leading the pack among UK cities. This comes as no surprise, given that sustainability is a top priority for many job seekers.
Bath's commitment to sustainability is evident in its cycling infrastructure. The city offers a staggering 739 different cycle routes, encouraging residents and workers to adopt eco-friendly transportation. This, coupled with the city's lowest emissions per km2 among the top ten cities, has contributed to its high sustainability rating.
The study also revealed that over 1,000 job adverts in Bath feature terms like 'sustainable workplace' or 'sustainable employer'. This reflects the city's focus on attracting environmentally conscious talent and creating a greener work environment.
Other cities also fared well in the sustainability rankings. St Albans came in second with a score of 79%, while Bristol, Glasgow, and Leeds followed closely with scores of 85%, 82%, and 80% respectively. London, despite having a vast amount of EV charging points and an Ultra Low Emission Zone, came in third.
The Instaprint study highlights the importance of sustainability in today's job market. With nine in ten adults believing it's crucial for employers and workplaces to be sustainable, cities like Bath are leading the way in attracting eco-conscious talent. As more cities prioritise sustainability, we can expect to see this trend continue in the future.
