Closed for a "Month of Silence": Krasnoyarskie Stolby

Heads up, folks! As of Monday, May 12, Krasnoyarskie Stolby National Park will be shutting its doors to visitors. The reason? It's time for the traditional "silent month," but don't worry, it lasts only 11 days!

Every spring, the park restricts access to visitors due to various reasons – from the fire-prone season to an abundance of ticks. But the main purpose is to maintain a peaceful awakening for the park's protected flora and fauna.

Starting from Monday, both the Central entrance on Ulitsa Sverdlovskaya and the paths from the Bobrovy Log fan park will be closed.

So, about that... We kindly ask you to understand and bear with us. Krasnoyarskie Stolby National Park will reopen on May 24 for all to enjoy.

In the meantime, you can catch a glimpse of the Stolby – Eastern entrance is still open. Access remains to the Granite Quarry Bowl and the Science Center located at Ulitsa Basaiskaya, 232a, Str. 5.

Oh, and a quick shout-out to our pals at DELA for snapping the picture!

Do you know why the park is closed annually for a month? Well, it's a bit like conserving a precious ecosystem in a protected area. The temporary closure follows conservation practices common in many national parks.

During this period, the park is closed to minimize the impact on the park's delicate ecosystem, which is particularly vulnerable during the spring season – a time when wildlife breeds and plants regrow after the harsh winter. This protective measure helps preserve biodiversity and protect the park's unique ecosystem.

So, relax and enjoy a peaceful nature break during this short period while Mother Nature does her own thing!
