Venture Back to the 25th Photographic Race in Portimão 📸
It's time to reminisce and revisit the past as we step into the 25th Photographic Race, happening this year! 🏆
This event, held under the auspices of the Portimão Museum, harks back to its roots, tracked by 95 photographers 24 years ago. They roamed the city for 24 hours, capturing moments that embodied 24 diverse themes.
This year, participants can join in the fun with two modalities:
- 24-Hour Mode: Kicking off at 8 pm on Friday, May 16, and wrapping up at 8 pm on Saturday, May 17, photographers can submit a set of 24 images that interpret the 24 themes proposed. The top three in this category will walk away with €900, €550, and €350, respectively.
- 12-Hour Mode: Beginning at 8 am on Saturday, May 17, and ending at 8 pm on the same day, participants can submit 12 images that mirror 12 unique themes. Prizes for this category are €600 (1st place), €350 (2nd), and €150 (3rd).
One essential rule across both modes is that all photographs must cover the geographic area of Portimão, Alvor, and Mexilhoeira Grande, just like last year.
At the end of the event, a jury will select the best sets of 24 and 12 images, awarding distinctions to the top three in each category. The winning images will later be exhibited at the Portimão Museum, with the collective exhibition scheduled to open on December 13th.
