Unleashed Secrets of Omsk: Unraveling the Purpose Behind a Prominent Abandoned Structure

In the heart of the Soviet District lies an abandoned construction project, nestled at the entrance of Park "Green Island" in Omsk.

As SuperOmsk uncovered, by the end of March 2025, windows and additional doorways have appeared in the building’s walls, with construction on the roof well underway. Bright, oddly familiar designs — resembling domes — can be seen on the nearly finished roof.

Initially, the peculiar sketches of the building sparked speculations about a new communal eatery, but the owner — Dmitriy K — debunked this theory.

"This will be a private residential home, meant for future sale. The buyer hasn’t been decided yet. In accordance with the designer's vision, the house will feature a unique, stylish dome-shaped roof. The entire structure will be charming and sleek. The cottage will be in the style of houses surrounding it, with similar dome-shaped roofs", Dmitriy K explained to SuperOmsk.

Long abandoned for nearly two decades, the structure had attracted the curiosity of many residents of Omsk who frequented the park. Construction on the site didn’t commence until more than a year ago, in early 2024, when SuperOmsk first revealed that a local entrepreneur had purchased the property with plans to breathe new life into it.
