Consulting Period for Budget: Three Days for Project Evaluation
Almaty Extends Deadline for Budget Participation Program Reviews
The evaluation period for revised projects under Almaty's Budget Participation program has been expanded by three days. The expert commission will assess proposals submitted by local residents from November 3 through November 8, as opposed to the initial deadline of November 5. Following this review process, public voting will ensue. Residents can cast their votes for their preferred project online via SMS or in-person at Open Space branches.
In its second year, the Budget Participation program has allocated 800 million tenge for each district, according to Almaty.tv. Proposed projects include the construction of children's and sports facilities, courtyard improvements, and the installation of lighting using local funds.
Erlan Smailov, a member of the city's Public Council, expressed the objective for this year's program: "Our goal is to choose and implement more quality projects. We aim to reach 800 million tenge this year, focusing on quality and well-thought-out projects that benefit Almaty's residents."
The Budget Participation program encourages Almaty residents to propose projects geared toward local infrastructure improvements, public space enhancements, social services, and urban amenities. Funding distribution is based on population size and project priorities in the city's various districts. Detailed information about this year's proposed projects and funding allocations can be found through direct sources from the Almaty city government or local news outlets.
Developing quality projects that improve home-and-garden amenities for Almaty residents is a key focus for this year's Budget Participation program. Fulfilling Erlan Smailov's vision of more quality projects, proposed projects in the home-and-garden lifestyle category include courtyard improvements and the installation of lighting using local funds.
