LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart Sets Launching in 2025

Get ready for an exciting ride as the LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart sets are set to launch on January 1, 2025. These sets, designed for ages 8 and up, bring the thrill of Mario Kart to your living room with brick-built vehicles themed after iconic Mario Kart characters.

The sets include interactive LEGO Super Mario figures, such as Wario and King Boo in the Wario & King Boo set (72038). The Badwagon and Teddy Buggy karts are buildable and come with shell-launching functions and drifting action. The Badwagon also has a detachable glider that fits on the Teddy Buggy.

These sets are compatible with LEGO Mario, Luigi, or Peach figures (sold separately), which can trigger Mario Kart sound and visual effects for honking, drifting, and gliding during play. The sets typically retail around $50 and offer piece counts around 500.

Action Tags integrate gameplay elements and track features, while some sets allow customization features such as swapping wheels and adapting vehicles with accessories. For example, the LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart - Toad's Garage (72035) includes two Blue Toads (Pit Crew) and allows players to customize their own kart using 390 pieces.

In addition to character karts, the LEGO Group is releasing larger display-oriented sets for adults, such as the 72037 Mario Kart set with a posable Mario figure and detailed kart for $169.99 (released later in 2025).

The new LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart sets also feature vibrant characters, customizable karts, and unique track items. These sets can turn unexpected surfaces into the ultimate Mario Kart track. For instance, the LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart - Standard Kart set includes a buildable model of the standard edition Mario Kart, a workstation, a Toad toy figure, and a detachable Super Glider.

Other sets in the line include the LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart - Baby Mario vs. Baby Luigi set, the LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart - Baby Peach & Grand Prix Set, the LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart - Donkey Kong & DK Jumbo set, and the LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart - Yoshi Bike set.
