On July 16, 2025, the Public Insurance Companies of Saxony-Anhalt (ÖSA) organised an event in Magdeburg, Germany, themed "Health, Enjoyment, and Staying Green" to celebrate International Women's Day. As part of the event, ÖSA made a significant donation of 1,000 euros to the German Forest Conservation Association (SDW).

The donated funds will be utilised for environmental education and tree-planting projects, particularly supporting one of the projects, the Waldfuchs project (www.waldfuchs-projekt.de). The Waldfuchs project, which aims to inspire children and young people to protect nature in a playful and inspiring way, is one of the initiatives that the SDW has been working towards for decades.

Anne-Katrin Blisse, the state manager of SDW Saxony-Anhalt, received the donation from Sabine Maihold, the honorary equal opportunities officer of ÖSA, and Janett Ebecke. This donation is not ÖSA's first contribution to the SDW's efforts to preserve and care for native forests. Since 2020, ÖSA has supported the reforestation of forest areas in Saxony-Anhalt, including the establishment of an orchard biotope at the Concordia Lake with the SDW.

Sabine Maihold stated that cohesion and responsibility for people and nature are important to ÖSA. She emphasised that the donation was a testament to their commitment to supporting environmental causes and fostering a sustainable future.

The Waldfuchs project, which has received funding from the donation, has been instrumental in promoting nature conservation among children and young people. The project's innovative approach to environmental education and tree-planting initiatives aligns perfectly with the SDW's mission to preserve and care for native forests.

In conclusion, the donation from ÖSA to the SDW will undoubtedly contribute to the ongoing efforts to preserve and care for native forests in Saxony-Anhalt, while inspiring the next generation to become advocates for nature conservation.

Other initiatives, such as home-and-garden projects, could benefit from ÖSA's commitment to supporting environmental causes, as they strive to foster a sustainable lifestyle on a local scale. The investments made by ÖSA in various environmental-science projects, like the Waldfuchs project, serve as a reminder of their long-term dedication to the protection and preservation of nature.
