The Youth Welfare Office in Dresden-Seidnitz has called for a wool donation campaign to support the "Experienced Hands Knit for Little Feet" project. This initiative, which has been successfully running since 2013, aims to provide warm baby socks and leg warmers for newborns in Dresden.

The project is in urgent need of more supplies, particularly wool, and is accepting donations until the last day of September. All colors of wool are welcome, and the donated wool should be suitable for knitting baby socks.

Dresden residents have been volunteering for this cause since the project's inception, knitting items that are presented to new parents during a non-binding offer of a conversation about their baby. Employees of the Youth Welfare Office also distribute these knitted items during home visits or joint walks.

The designated location for dropping off or sending wool donations is the Youth Welfare Office at Enderstraße 59, 01277 Dresden-Seidnitz. Donations can be made on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9 am and 5 pm. Alternatively, wool donations can be sent by post to the same address.

The donation campaign comes with a congratulatory letter from the Mayor, making it a heartwarming gesture for new parents in Dresden. For those interested in supporting this initiative, local knitting or craft groups, charitable organizations running knitting projects in the area, or community centers or social media groups dedicated to crafting or charity in Dresden can provide further information.
