Drive-In Cinema Event Commemorating Castle Theatre's Anniversary
This weekend, the Castle Theatre in Manchester is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a unique twist – a drive-in movie event at the Delaware County Fairgrounds.
Originally, movies were shown on the big screen in downtown Manchester, but this special occasion marks a departure from the usual. The theatre, which was re-opened in 2009 after being saved from closing by local citizens, will be screening the hit movie, "The Greatest Showman".
The person who took over as manager of the Castle Theatre after its reopening was Ann Goerke, followed by Kristy Davis who has been managing the theatre for several years. The theatre has been a labor of love for the volunteers and board who have kept it running since its re-opening.
One of the highlights of the event is that free popcorn will be provided during the movie. The movie will start at dusk, and the gates for the drive-in event will open at 6:15 pm.
A special guest at the event will be Cathy Parrott, the Assistant Costume Designer for "The Greatest Showman". Manchester native Parrott is excited to attend the event and celebrate the anniversary of a theatre that she holds dear.
The Friends of Castle Theatre are hosting the anniversary celebration, and everyone is welcome to attend the free showing of "The Greatest Showman" on Saturday night. So grab your popcorn, find a comfortable spot in your car, and enjoy a night under the stars at the Castle Theatre's drive-in movie event!
