Düsseldorf's ADFC welcomes a new leader as its chairperson.

The ADFC Düsseldorf, a local chapter of the German Cyclists' Association, is gearing up for an exciting season with its newly elected board. The 7-member team, led by chairperson Daniela Günther, includes her deputy Edda Schindler-Matthes, treasurer Kevin Kaule, and 4 members-at-large: Ulrike Schell, Ulrich Pegelow, Klaus Helmke, and Jan-Philipp Holthoff.

The new board was elected during the regular board elections held on April 12, with Daniela Günther receiving an overwhelming majority to become the new chairperson. Notably, Ulrich Pegelow from Benrath was elected as a new member-at-large.

Günther, a native Düsseldorf resident and a passionate cyclist, has already made a name for herself as team leader of the annual ADFC "Bicycle Star Ride". She looks forward to her new role in the board, emphasizing her intention to continue driving ADFC Düsseldorf as a lively, diverse, and influential association.

The upcoming ADFC "Bicycle Star Ride" is scheduled for May 4, and the membership meeting discussed the event in detail. Interested individuals can learn more about the Star Ride and how to participate by visiting the provided link.

Moreover, the ADFC will participate in the DGB family festival on May 1 at the Johannes-Rau-Platz. This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in learning more about ADFC and its activities.

It's worth noting that Lerke Tyra, who served as chairperson of ADFC Düsseldorf for a decade, did not run for re-election. The new board, however, remains unchanged since the election, as per the latest information available.

As we move forward, we encourage everyone to support ADFC Düsseldorf in their efforts to promote cycling and cycling infrastructure in the city. For the latest updates on the association's leadership and strategic plans, we recommend checking the official ADFC Düsseldorf website or local news outlets.

The newly elected board, led by Daniela Günther, is eager to bring their unique perspectives to the ADFC Düsseldorf, with Ulrich Pegelow advocating for a greater emphasis on outdoor-living and home-and-garden initiatives, such as cycling-friendly gardens and green spaces. In addition to promoting cycling, the association plans to engage more with the community, hosting events like the ADFC "Bicycle Star Ride" and participating in local festivals, encouraging an active lifestyle for all.
