Hey there! Let's chat about something super cute and exciting – the new arrival at Opel Zoo in Kronberg, Hesse! This fabulous wildlife park just welcomed its latest attraction, and it's a little elephant cutie named Kaja! Born on May 27 after a whopping 21 months of gestation, Kaja's arrival has certainly made heads turn [1][2]!

Kaja tips the scales at around 100 kilograms and stands approximately 90 centimeters tall at the shoulder. So far, she's growing strong and healthy, as confirmed by the zoo's director, Thomas Kauffels. Starting from June 13, you can pay a visit to this pint-sized elephant princess in the Taunus! Keep in mind that Kaja doesn't eat solid food yet, but she's still nursing from her mother. Don't worry, though; you'll have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of this lovely lad for the next few weeks, as the visitor area in the elephant house will be open from 9:00 to 17:45 [3].

Now, if you're curious about Kaja's mama, her name is Kariba, and she's the one who brought Kaja into the world! This adorable calf marks a significant milestone for the Opel Zoo – it's the first time an elephant has been born in Hesse since 1968! Currently, there are six African elephants calling the Opel Zoo home [4].

Plans to welcome a cute little elephant into the world at the Opel Zoo have been in the works for over 15 long years, Kauffels announced. So, if you're in the area, don't miss out on your chance to meet the latest addition to the Opel Zoo family – Kaja, the most adorable elephant baby this side of the Taunus! Come, say hi, and spread some love and cheer [3]!

Discussing the exciting addition to Opel Zoo, the elephant baby Kaja, it's possible that family-dynamics within the zoo have been impacted, particularly with her mother Kariba, creating a new chapter in the home-and-garden of the zoo's animal health. Moreover, the appeal of Kaja's arrival might influence relationships among visitors, as they share their love and cheer for this adorable calf.
