Hangin' Out and Chowin' Down at Belle Vie Cafe
Fancy grabbin' a bite with a buddy? We decided to hit up Belle Vie Cafe, situated near the local train station. This joint offers a smorgasbord of delights, from breakfast fare to sandwiches, burgers, and even a petite kids menu, plus some 'mains' for the hearty eaters. Since we were after a light lunch, Dann went for a breakfast option, I opted for a main, and we snagged some drinks andmozzarella sticks as well.
Marinated Mediterranean Chicken and Bruschetta
When it comes to breakfast, I'm more about the savory dishes, so I plumped for the Mediterranean Marinated Chicken. It was juicy, well cooked, and had me feelin' like I was in the Mediterranean itself! My plate was laden with delicious mushrooms, salad, and crunchy chips. The salad was a tad drenched in dressing, but the chips were perfectly crispy. Dann, on the other hand, went for the Mediterranean Bruschetta - which was more of a, well, decorated avocado toast. It was adorned with avocado, onions, a Turkish sausage, poached eggs, balsamic, and came with a side of coleslaw. The eggs were cooked to perfection, and the color was rich, though the flavor, we felt, didn't quite match the beauty of the dish. The sausage, though, was the star of the show and made it taste simply delightful.
Cheesy Fallback
Now, I ain't gonna lie, I wasn't expecting much from the mozzarella sticks, but they hit the spot! I'm assumin' kids are the intended audience, but still, the breaded cheese was just what the doctor ordered. Comparably, they weren't the most elaborate or well-presented dish on the menu, but that's okay, sometimes plain and simple does the trick.
Sippin' on Some Goodness at Belle Vie
I grabbed not one, but two drinks at Belle Vie Cafe. They had smoothies and Chai lattes, so how could I resist? Dann opted for a mocha, which he claimed didn't need any sugar and was a sight for sore eyes. The smoothie, laden with tropical fruits, was refreshing and delicious, and my chai - another beauty - was well balanced too. I wish I had gone for oat milk, but I keep forgetting that cow milk is the default when dining out.
Belle Vie Cafe has a delightful interior, and it's clear that the staff take pride in their work. The presentation is eye-catching, and there were plenty of young families inside, chatting over cups of coffee and scrumptious food. I'm smitten by the decor, which includes inspirational murals. It's just a charmin' little cafe.
