Essen Revamps Playgrounds: €313K Investment Brings New Play Experiences
Essen has revamped several playgrounds across the city, offering improved and diverse news experiences for children. The modernization project, completed with an investment of approximately €313,000, has transformed play areas in Katernberg, Frohnhausen, and Holsterhausen.
The Bunsenstraße playground in Holsterhausen now boasts two new play structures, including a climbing and balancing tower designed for older children. Meanwhile, the August-Schmidt-Straße playground in Katernberg caters to children aged 6 to 13 with climbing, swinging, and role-playing facilities. In Frohnhausen, the Westpark playground has been enhanced with new playhouses, a balancing bar, and climbing options for larger children.
