In the heart of Bremen, the Piepe Lantern Parade is set to illuminate Neustadt on November 15th. Organised by the Neustadt Stadtteilmanagement and the Martinsclub Bremen e.V., with financial support from Sparkasse Bremen, this much-anticipated event promises an evening filled with light, music, and community spirit.
The parade will start at 4:30 pm, winding its way along the Kleine Weser. Participants are encouraged to gather at the meeting point, the kiosk at the Werdersee by the Deichschart, near the "Kirchweg" tram stop, at 4 pm.
A variety of vehicles, including those from the Police, Fire, and Johanniter services, will be on display for all to see. As the parade progresses, musical entertainment will accompany the procession, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Upon arrival at the Piepe, a farewell event with hot drinks and snacks will take place from 5:30 pm. The Bremen Ukulele Orchestra will perform at this event, providing a fitting conclusion to the evening.
For those who wish to participate, specially designed lanterns for the Piepe Lantern Parade are available in Neustadt retail stores for a donation of three to seven euros. Proceeds from the lantern sales will fund inclusive educational and leisure activities of the Martinsclub.
Julia Renke from Martinsclub emphasises the parade's inclusive nature, encouraging participation regardless of physical or mental impairments. Fire artist Gordon Ruff will perform a fire show at 6 pm, adding a spectacular finale to the event.
