In the picturesque Lahn Valley vacation region, known for its enjoyment, hospitality, and lived regionality, two distinguished establishments have been honoured with the prestigious 'Hesse à la Carte' award. The Justice in the Hessian Court in Giessen and the wine house Schultes in Limburg have both been recognised for their commitment to culinary ambition, sustainability, and regional affiliation.

The Justice in the Hessian Court, situated in Giessen, prides itself on its homemade quality with traditional Hessian roots. From ketchup to cream cheese, everything is made with care, reflecting the establishment's dedication to authenticity. The Justice in the Hessian Court's cuisine has been applauded for its focus on traditional Hessian dishes.

Similarly, the wine house Schultes in Limburg offers a Hessian-Mediterranean cuisine, primarily using regional producers and suppliers. The restaurant specializes in seasonal cuisine, with daily changing recommendations such as asparagus, mushrooms, and game. Schultes's commitment to fresh, local ingredients is evident in every dish served.

Every three years, participating businesses undergo a comprehensive quality check. Depending on the score, businesses are awarded 1, 2, or 3 Hessian state lions. Both the Justice in the Hessian Court and the wine house Schultes have been awarded the highest accolade, the 3 Hessian state lions.

The Hessian Minister for Economy, Energy, Transport, Housing, and Rural Affairs, Kaweh Mansoori, presented the awards at the awarding ceremony held in the Hessian Court in Giessen. The certificate for the award 'Hesse à la Carte' is signed by Kaweh Mansoori, as well as the Hesse à la carte business managers Gisbert J. Kern and Yvonne Heider.

Philipp Borchardt, Managing Director of the Lahn Valley Tourism Association e.V., commends the commitment of the awarded businesses to authentic, regionally connected dishes. He believes that these establishments play a crucial role in promoting the rich culinary traditions of the region.

The wine house Schultes, with its Hessian-Mediterranean cuisine, and the Justice in the Hessian Court, with its traditional Hessian roots, exemplify the criteria set by the 'Hesse à la Carte' award. These two establishments serve as a testament to the vibrant culinary scene in Hesse and the importance of regionality in modern gastronomy.
