New Protective Clothing for Local Fire Departments

The city administration has announced a significant investment in the safety of its firefighters, with the unveiling of new protective clothing for all ten local fire departments. The new equipment, totalling approximately 866,000 euros, was presented in the Fire Protection Committee by Mayor Claudio Provenzano.

Mayor Provenzano emphasised the importance of investing in the safety of the city, stating that those who stand up daily for the safety of others deserve the best possible equipment. Fire Department Director Christian Peters joined him in presenting the new protective clothing for the Volunteer Fire Department.

The new jackets, trousers, and gloves have been carefully chosen to ensure the best possible equipment for firefighters. They are made from new materials offering better protection against heat, flames, chemicals, and mechanical stress. The deployment forces were involved in the testing of the selected models and the color choice.

The working group on protective clothing of the fire department decided on red for its special signaling effect and visibility in poor visibility conditions such as smoke. The red colour is designed to make firefighters more visible to each other and to other emergency services, improving safety on the job.

The new protective clothing was presented with the statement that it is an investment in the protection of the deployment forces and the safety of the entire city. The new equipment is expected to greatly enhance the firefighters' ability to perform their duties effectively and safely in a variety of challenging conditions.

Unfortunately, the search results do not provide specific information about which local fire departments will receive the new protective clothing. However, with the investment made by the city administration, it is clear that the safety of the firefighters and the citizens they serve is a top priority.
