The music school at the August Everding Cultural Centre in Bottrop is set for a musical transformation, thanks to a generous donation from the Support Association. This donation, amounting to 15,000 euros, has been instrumental in the acquisition of new pianos for the school.

For the past 35 years, the music school has been conducting its lessons on the same instruments. However, this may change with the ongoing fundraising efforts, which have been bolstered by the Support Association's contribution.

The donation has resulted in the purchase of two new pianos. One, a sleek, black finished piano, now graces a small classroom at the music school. The other, slightly used but barely used, was acquired for 1,000 euros. Additionally, another piano was purchased for 4,000 euros.

The total cost of the new pianos was 10,000 euros, a significant investment for the Support Association, but one that symbolises their appreciation for the music school and its students.

Christina Hanisch, the music school's director, plans to use future funds for the replacement of damaged wind instruments and guitars. The need for musical instruments at the school is high, with approximately 800 music students.

The Support Association has consistently provided funds for instrument purchases and events, with annual contributions ranging from 10,000 to 20,000 euros. Their latest donation, however, is an unusual amount for them to spend on musical instruments at once.

The crowdfunding campaign, which includes contributions from organisations like the Volksbank, continues to support the music school. If you'd like to contribute, you can find the campaign here.

With these new pianos, piano lessons at the music school can now be taught on new instruments for the first time since its founding 35 years ago. The music school's instrument inventory has been expanded, and the focus of future purchases may shift to wind instruments and guitars.

The music school expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the Support Association for their generous donation and continued support. It's a step towards ensuring that the music school continues to provide quality music education to its students.
