Exploring German Classics Tactily at the Hebborner Court
The 30th edition of the Bergisch Classics, a renowned international equestrian competition, is set to take place at the Hebborner Hof in Bergisch Gladbach from August 15th to 24th.
Hosted by the Reiterverein Hebborner Hof, an organisation actively involved in social work for many years, the event promises an exciting mix of show jumping and dressage competitions. From beginners to the highest performance class, the competitions cater to riders of all skill levels.
The event is more than just a competition; it serves as a platform to promote youth, foster togetherness, and provide a stage for equestrian sport. It attracts up to 7,000 spectators, making it one of the largest equestrian events in the Rhineland.
A notable participant this year is Regine Mispelkamp, a silver and bronze Olympic winner who is preparing for her participation in the Summer Games in Paris. Other prominent riders, such as Olympians, Nations Cup riders, German and Rhineland champions, are expected to participate, although detailed records of past winners and participants are not widely publicized.
The gastronomic area features snow-white pagoda tents, offering visitors a delightful culinary experience alongside the equestrian action. The event is also a social gathering, with representatives from sports, politics, and economics meeting and exchanging ideas.

The organisers have demonstrated their commitment to the community, sponsoring a therapy horse at the Reittherapeutisches Zentrum Meierhof in Kürten and providing donations for flood victims' rebuilding.
The "Großer Preis von Bergisch Gladbach" is a prestigious competition within the event, with winners including Felix Schneider, Thomas Kuck, Kathrin Müller, Taizo Sugitani, and Hendrik Dowe in the past. This year, Heiner Schiergen will defend his title in the dressage arena.
In addition to the competitions, the evening program of the show nights under floodlights is a popular attraction. This year, the Hebborners will present a quadrille with six Friesians and Emilia Schlotterbeck's liberty dressage of her "Dancing Horses".
