Spring Fair along the Rhine in Düsseldorf Returns for Eleven Exciting Days
The Spring Fair along the Rhine (Rheinkirmes) in Düsseldorf, Germany, is set to return from July 11 to July 20, 2025. This year's event promises to build on the success of the Easter Fair, offering a ten-day extravaganza filled with entertainment, food, and thrilling rides for all ages.
Located between Oberkasseler Bridge and Rheinterrasse, the fair will be open from 1 PM on weekends and 3 PM on weekdays, with the festivities concluding at 10 PM, although extended hours are expected on weekends.
The Spring Fair is particularly beautiful when lit up at night, with the Ferris wheel offering a leisurely view of the Rhine and the city. For the young and young at heart, the fair offers a variety of rides, including carousels, bumper cars, and the new additions, the giant swing "Excalibur" and the chain flyer.
Foodies will be delighted with the array of options available, including traditional German fare such as Füchschen Alt, Schumacher, and Schlüssel Alt. Visitors can also look forward to the Fortuna fan truck visiting the fair on Thursday, 8.5., until evening.
Traditionally, the Spring Fair includes a fireworks display on Friday evening. This year, there will be two: one on May 2nd and another on May 9th. The May 2nd fireworks display will be set off over the Oberkasseler Rhine meadows opposite the fair at dusk, while the exact timing and details for the May 9th display are yet to be announced.
For those who are fans of superheroes, Wednesday, 7.5., will see Avengers figures parading through the fair, providing ample opportunities for selfies.
Showman chief Oliver Wilmering notes that the wind can be strong along the Rhine, affecting attendance. However, this year's fair boasts an impressive 63 showmen setting up their stands and rides, ensuring a memorable experience for all.
The Spring Fair was officially opened by Mayor Dr. Stephan Keller at 6 PM on Wednesday, 30.4., marking the start of the countdown to the eleven-day celebration.
