Sustainable Foods Summit to Discuss Future of Sustainable Food and Beverages in Singapore
The Sustainable Foods Summit is set to take place at the ParkRoyal Collection Marina Bay Singapore on the 25th and 26th of February 2025. This two-day event promises to be a platform for discussions, insights, and solutions regarding the future of sustainable food and beverages.
The agenda features four key sessions covering sustainability developments, ingredient innovations, future trends, and marketing insights. Prominent speakers and panelists from various sectors of the industry will share their expertise and perspectives.
Keynote Speeches and Panels
Professor William Chen will deliver a keynote on "Moving Towards Sustainable Food Systems," setting the tone for the summit. Calisa Lim will give an update on cultured meat and seafood, emphasising regulatory developments. The discussions will also cover the main obstacles in marketing sustainable food and beverages, with Mayur Singh, Co-Founder of Green Collective, Frantz Braha, Co-owner of SaladStop, and Lastiana Yuliandari, Founder of Aliet Green, being part of the panel.
A dedicated panel will discuss marketing issues associated with sustainable food and beverages, with Trezelene Chan speaking about consumer behavior towards sustainable products. Ding Jie Tan, Co-Founder and CTO of Prefered, will highlight challenges when marketing novel products, and Dedicated panel will examine the challenges of scaling sustainable agriculture in Asia.
Innovations and Challenges
The summit will showcase innovative solutions in the field. For instance, Dole Specialty Ingredients is a pioneer in valorising waste materials into new food ingredients. Nikolaos Stantzos from PUR will discuss the challenges of implementing regenerative agriculture projects. The Singapore company Prefered has developed bean-free coffee, and Somsubhra GanChoudhuri will show how AI can be used by food and beverage companies to identify suitable ingredients and create sustainable products.
Helping Smallholders Adopt Sustainable Practices
Nova Nelson from Wild Asia will highlight efforts to help smallholders adopt organic and regenerative farming practices. Institutions involved in discussions about scaling sustainable agriculture in Asia include the World Organic Federation, IFOAM-Organics Asia, the German Association for Organic Farming (Naturland), various agricultural administrations from China, Japan, the Philippines, India, and hosts like Vietnam at the Asia Organic Conference 2025.
Raising Consumer Demand for Sustainable Products
The summit will also explore ways to raise consumer demand for sustainable products. Vikas Garg of Abillion will present market data on the Asian market for plant-based foods. The Sustainable Foods Summit aims to be a catalyst for change, fostering collaboration and driving progress towards a more sustainable food system.
