Get ready, pet lovers! The much-anticipated Bloom and Bark event is set to return to the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens on Sunday, July 20, 2025. This free, family-friendly event takes place from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, offering a fun-filled day for both humans and their furry friends.

The event, co-hosted by Awesome Paws Rescue, aims to promote pet adoption, support local animal rescues, and provide a memorable experience for all attendees. Over a dozen local rescues will be in attendance, including Awesome Paws Rescue, Buffalo C.A.R.E.S., and many more.

In addition to the pet adoptions and educational booths, several pet-focused vendors, food, and drink vendors will be present. Some of the confirmed vendors include Buffalo Freeze Dry, Mel's K9 Cafe, Barks N Meows, SandDancer Canine Swim Therapy and Fitness, Sit 'n Stay Dog Training, and Chocolate Hugs.

Marlee and Me Photography will also be on-site, offering puppy portraits for attendees and their new adoptable friends. The event will take place on the front lawn of the Botanical Gardens, which is located within a park system designed by Frederick Law Olmsted.

Awesome Paws Rescue is a volunteer-run, no-kill, 501(c)(3) nonprofit that relies entirely on donations to cover the care, medical needs, and transportation of their animals. They help dogs from overcrowded and high-risk shelters, primarily in the southern U.S.

Support for the Botanical Gardens is provided by public funds, members, donors, and friends. The Botanical Gardens will be open for their Butterfly Experience, which is included with paid admission. Earthwise Pet is the sponsor of the event.

For the latest information, visit the Botanical Gardens’ official website or social media pages, or contact the participating rescues directly. This event is an excellent opportunity to support local animal rescues, learn about pet adoption, and enjoy a day out at one of Buffalo’s premier botanical venues.

At the event, pet-focused vendors like Buffalo Freeze Dry, Mel's K9 Cafe, Barks N Meows, and Chocolate Hugs will provide food and drinks for human attendees. Marlee and Me Photography will offer puppy portraits, capturing memorable moments during the day. The event also features educational booths, furthering one's knowledge about pets and pet care.
