Gathering at Pentecost 2025 in Paderborn: Confluence Festival
Paderborn to Host Confluence Music Festival from June 6th to 9th, 2025
For the fourth consecutive year, the picturesque Pader landscape will serve as the backdrop for the Confluence Music Festival, welcoming music enthusiasts for a memorable experience over the Pentecost weekend. The event will be free and open-air.
Under the artistic direction of Uli Lettermann and organized by Stefan Hermanns, the festival brings an eclectic mix of international soundscapes to Paderborn. The festival's name, "Confluence," signifies the convergence of music genres, cultures, and styles, similar to the union of the Pader's source arms.
A Four-Day Odyssey of Music Diversity
The festival kicks off on Friday, June 6th, at 6:30 PM, with music from Eastern Europe featured by the Wild Strings Trio from Slovenia and the passionate Hungaro Group from Budapest.
Saturday, June 7th, promises an energetic evening with the funk/jazz band Fatcat and the renowned bandoneonist Claudio Constantini from Madrid, who has been Grammy-nominated.
Sunday, June 8th, offers a family-friendly afternoon with jazz and classical water music from the Ensemble Vino Rosso. The evening will be graced with the poetic music of Helene Blum & Harald Haugaard from Denmark. A notable highlight will be the return of percussionist Ruven Ruppik from Hövelhof, who will perform with his international ensemble.
The festival concludes on Pentecost Monday, June 9th, with performances by the Quintessence Saxophone Quintet and the multinational Ugarit Band, bridging cultures through their programs.
Art Embraces Music
A video/music installation will accompany the festival, making the Pader water's journey to the Netherlands tangible through both visual and auditory means. The exhibition society Paderborn provides the necessary support for the project.
A Festival for All Senses
The festival will span three stages: the Pader meadows, behind the Paderhalle, and in front of the city library. Picnic blankets are warmly invited - food and drink stands will cater to your physical comfort. Admission is free on all days.
