Gathering student complaints from schools by means of a children and youth-led parliament
Marburg Children and Youth Parliament Launches 15th Annual School Bag Donation Campaign
The Marburg Children and Youth Parliament (KiJuPa) is once again collecting school backpacks and rucksacks for the 15th consecutive year. This year's donation campaign is being held at the University City of Marburg, with the aim of supporting children and young people in Sibiu, Romania.
From Monday to Wednesday, between 9 am and 4 pm, and on Thursday from 9 am to 6 pm, you can hand in your used but functional school bags at the Youth House in the KiJuPa office or at the house service. The collection will continue until October 2.
The school bags will be taken to Sibiu, Romania, which is Marburg's partner city. Since 2010, over 2,700 school bags have been collected in Marburg for children and young people in Sibiu.
The donation campaign promotes sustainability and careful resource management, as the school bags are reused rather than discarded. The support for this campaign is provided by the "Help for Sibiu/Hermannstadt e.V." association.
In 2010, the collection of school backpacks for children from Sibiu in Marburg was initiated by the local community or an organization, but the specific individual or group is not publicly documented.
Subscribing to the University City of Marburg newsletter provides regular important news from the town hall and city life. Stay informed and support this worthy cause by handing in your school bags.
The fall season is when the collected school bags will be taken to Sibiu, Romania. Let's continue to make a difference in the lives of children in need.
