High-end catamaran inspection: A grand vessel exuding luxury in every detail
The Evo 60, a new luxury catamaran, is set to make its debut in 2026. This high-performance vessel, priced around $3.5m, is a full South African project by Evolution Marine. The Evo 60 is designed for both regatta sailing and bluewater cruising, promising speed, luxury, and comfortable cruising.
At 60 feet (approx. 18 meters), the Evo 60 falls into the luxury sport catamaran class, optimized for spacious accommodations and stability. Around 80% of the Evo 60 is made of carbon, ensuring lightweight construction for improved performance.
Anton Du Toit, a top multihull designer, is responsible for the Evo 60's sleek and modern design, which prioritizes spacious luxury. The saloon boasts a Miami beach-house feel, while the expansive outdoor areas offer ample space for relaxation.
The Evo 60 is built at Evolution Marine in Cape Town and features a fully infused E-glass/carbon epoxy structure. The builder offers full customization, including interior layouts, stabilizers, glazing, and technological packages to tailor the yacht to owner preferences.
Evolution Marine aims to build 12 Evo 60s over the next four years. The first Evo 60 is being built without an owner, with the intention of being ready for the Cape to Rio Race at the end of this year.
The Evo 60 aligns with premium Italian-built luxury catamarans, featuring powerful engines, high speed (30+ knots), and advanced construction materials. Detailed technical specifications, such as engine type, speed, fuel capacity, and accommodation layout, will be available closer to its 2026 debut.

The Evo 60's bluewater cruising lifestyle extends beyond the sea, as its owner can personalize the yacht's home-and-garden elements, such as interior layouts and technological packages. After a day of high-speed bluewater cruising, one can unwind in the expansive outdoor areas, creating a harmonious blend of nautical and home-and-garden aesthetics.
