Introducing the Cape-WT10: A Foldable, Traailable Performance Yacht for Versatile Sailing

The Cape-WT10, a 33-foot trimaran, is set to make waves in the sailing world. Designed by Yacht Design Collective and built by Cape Performance in South Africa, this innovative yacht is designed for versatility, suitable for both competitive and recreational sailing.

The Cape-WT10 is a performance-oriented trimaran that folds for easy trailering and storage, a testament to its advanced engineering. With a focus on being light, fast, and thrilling, this modern multihull is poised to redefine sailing experiences.

At approximately 10 meters in length, the Cape-WT10 is designed to compete in RORC races, including the Fastnet, which has a minimum LOA of 30ft for multihulls. The first Cape-WT10 boat is expected to be completed for the 2023 Solent season, making it available for sailing and racing in the Solent, and later for recreational use in the South of France.

The interior of the Cape-WT10 is spacious, light, and appealing for short cruises. It features a long saloon, berths under the cockpit and forepeak, and a heads compartment. Outboard or inboard engine options are available for the Cape-WT10, providing flexibility to suit various sailing needs.

The Cape-WT10 is expected to reach speeds up to 30 knots, making it a high-performance vessel. White Tip Race Academy will facilitate boat tests, trimaran lessons, and multihull races, offering a diverse program that includes both racing and short cruises.

Thomas Wilson, a professional offshore sailor, commissioned the design of the Cape-WT10 due to his desire for a modern design in a 30-40ft trimaran. The expected price of the Cape-WT10 is €425,000.

The Cape-WT10 was designed by Francois Perus and Romain Scolari of Yacht Design Collective, despite being built in South Africa. Cape Performance, the company that builds the Cape 31 sportsboats in South Africa, is responsible for its construction.
