The picturesque village of Beckum, Germany, came alive with excitement and tradition during the annual St. Hubertus Shooting Society Beckum 1920 event. This year's festivities, held over the first weekend of July, were a resounding success, bringing together locals and visitors alike to celebrate the spirit of community and heritage.
At the heart of this year's celebration were the king and queen of the society, Michaela and Markus Baumeister. Markus, who earned the title of Schützenkönig (shooting king) with an impressive 107th shot the previous year, and his wife, Michaela, who is the current Queen of the St. Hubertus Shooting Society Beckum 1920.
The Baumeisters led the traditional festivities, opening the celebrations with their public appearance. They participated actively in events such as the festive procession and the official ceremonies of the shooting festival, symbolising the tradition and community spirit that the event embodies.
The St. Hubertus Shooting Society Beckum 1920 is not a competitive shooting event. Instead, it serves as a social gathering, where activities like dancing and laughter are common occurrences. The event also includes a Shooting Festival, which adds to the high-spirited atmosphere.
The Baumeisters will pass on their roles as king and queen to the next royal couple at the end of their reign, which lasts until July 2025. Until then, they continue to represent the society with pride, making the St. Hubertus Shooting Society Beckum 1920 a cherished tradition in the village of Beckum.
