In the heart of Kansas City, the city portal is hosting a Senior Citizens' Information Meeting on the second Thursday of every month, from 11 AM to 1 PM, at Paulinenstraße 65. This month's meeting is scheduled for August 30.
The meeting serves as a platform for personal exchange, where senior citizens can learn about the work of the Senior Citizens' Council and the offers of the Senior Citizens' Café. Ingrid Dannhauser, a member of the city portal working group for seniors in Kansas City, and Marion Kettelhake will lead the discussions.
Mayor Frank Hilker will attend the meeting, where he will present the results of the current senior citizens' survey. The main topics of discussion will be the results of the survey and new projects for the elderly. After the presentation, a Q&A session will follow, providing an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and share their thoughts.
Senior citizens in Kansas City are not only frequent users of offers in the city center but are also actively involved in clubs and neighborhoods. Their needs and suggestions play a crucial role in urban development in the city.
A new initiative to facilitate the elderly's participation in city life is the establishment of a pick-up and drop-off zone in the city center.
The meeting will start at the bakery Wester's Backfuchs, Am Plass 2, and will conclude around 4 PM at the community center 'Alte Schule'. Interested parties can meet members of the Senior Citizens' Council and employees of the Senior Citizens' Work at the meeting.
Following the meeting, a short walk through Bentrup-Loßbruch is scheduled for 3:15 PM.
This Senior Citizens' Information Meeting is more than just an informative event; it's a chance for senior citizens to connect, share experiences, and contribute to the development of their city.
