Senior Research Fellow Position Available at National Institute of Plant Health Management
The National Institute of Plant Health Management (NIPHM) is inviting candidates for a Walk-in-Interview to engage a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the Pesticide Management Division under the MPRNL Project.
Job Description
The Senior Research Fellow (SRF) will be responsible for conducting advanced scientific research focusing on pesticide management and related plant health issues. This includes assisting in data collection, analysis, and interpretation related to pesticide efficacy, environmental impact, and regulatory compliance.
The SRF will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for integrated pest and pesticide management projects. They will prepare technical reports, research papers, and documentation for project progress and dissemination. The SRF will also support field trials and laboratory experiments to test pesticides or pest control methods.
Additionally, the SRF may help in training and capacity-building activities related to pesticide management. They are expected to ensure compliance with project objectives, timelines, and standards set by NIPHM and funding agencies.
Educational Qualifications
The essential qualification for the position is a Master’s degree in relevant subjects such as Chemistry, Environmental Science, or Agriculture. A mandatory National Eligibility Test (NET) qualification is also required.
Experience Requirements
Typically, SRF positions require prior research experience. This could be demonstrated through previous projects in pesticide management or plant health, publications or presentations in relevant scientific areas, and hands-on experience in field trials and laboratory work related to pesticides.
Additional Information
The position is project-based and contractual, with duration tied to the MPRNL project timelines. The emoluments for the first and second year are Rs. 37,000/- per month, and for the third year, it increases to Rs. 42,000/- per month, plus quarters as per NIPHM norms (No HRA).
The interview for the Senior Research Fellow position will take place on 25 August 2025, at 9:00 AM. The interview venue is the National Institute of Plant Health Management in Hyderabad. Candidates must bring original certificates and self-attested copies to the interview. Certificate verification starts at the same time as the interview.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The age limit for men is maximum 35 years, and for women, it is maximum 40 years, with age relaxation as per NIPHM norms. Routine maintenance of analytical instruments and documentation as per laboratory quality management systems is required.
The selection process for the Senior Research Fellow position includes a PowerPoint presentation followed by an interview. Collection of market and farm-gate samples is a key duty of the Senior Research Fellow (SRF) position. The SRF will assist in project-related technical work as assigned.
Sample preparation and analysis using GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS are part of the Senior Research Fellow's duties.
