Kamchatka's Greenhouses Bring Locally Grown Tomatoes & Cucumbers to Stores
Kamchatka's agricultural scene is set for a shake-up. Locally grown medium-sized 'Merlis' tomatoes and 'Mева' cucumbers are poised to hit store shelves, with prices ranging up to 350 rubles and 330 rubles respectively. The produce, cultivated in the region's month-long greenhouse complex, will cater to both everyday consumers and discerning restaurant patrons.
AO 'Pioneer' stores will offer these fresh vegetables at no additional markup, ensuring customers enjoy the produce at its purest. Meanwhile, other points of sale are expected to apply a trade markup, covering transportation costs and staff work.
In addition to these mainstream varieties, the greenhouse complex will also cultivate specialty tomatoes and cucumbers. Heirloom and specialty hybrid tomatoes, along with premium greenhouse-grown cucumbers, will be produced in smaller quantities but command higher prices. These exclusive varieties are intended for restaurants and special orders, offering a taste of Kamchatka's agricultural finesse.
Kamchatka's consumers can look forward to locally sourced, high-quality tomatoes and cucumbers at competitive prices. The region's greenhouse complex is set to diversify its offerings, catering to both everyday shoppers and those seeking a touch of culinary distinction.
