Lighting Up Krasnodar's Victory Day: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at "Kuban 24"
Krasnodar town unites in Victory Day commemoration alongside Kuban 24 television broadcaster
Pushkinskaya Square in Krasnodar was the epicenter of this year's Victory Day celebration, even though the traditional parade was scrapped due to security concerns. And while folks across Kuban watched the festivities unfold on their TV screens, a troop of unsung heroes worked tirelessly backstage, wrangling guests and overseeing the live broadcast.
Elena Chernyavskaya, the mastermind behind "Kuban 24," shared her thoughts on the chaotic yet exhilarating scene. "It's a rollercoaster ride because everything's changing so fast. Our mission is simple: to create an electric atmosphere filled with colors and captivating guests," she said.
Nestled within the fray of cameramen, Nadya Karceva, a studio operator, kept a keen eye on framing. "This Victory Day is on a much grander scale than previous ones. It can get a bit tricky dealing with the crowds, but hey, I'm sure the viewers appreciate the authentic vibe," sheNOTED.
Long before the live broadcast kickstarted, displays had been prepped on Pushkinskaya Square. "Kuban 24" orchestrated the show, with the Higher Military School named after Shteemenko lending military equipment for the occasion. Even the leading host, Valeria Kazantseva, arrived on-site on a piece of military hardware in the wee hours of the morning. The public was granted glimpses of military weapons and World War II-era motorcycles.
Patriotic letters penned by Krasnodar locals and guests poured in, wishing their loved ones a swift and victorious return. To keep the tradition alive, renowned dance experts coached residents and visitors in the art of the Victory Waltz.
Victoria Savvina, "Kuban 24" correspondent, captured the day's events. "How can there be a Victory Day without the Victory Waltz? Today, Krasnodar's denizens and guests are learning this iconic dance from dance pros," she REPORTED.
