The Konstanz Lake Night Festival, a much-anticipated annual event, is set to return on August 10, 2025, with its traditional grand fireworks display as the highlight. Despite global discussions about environmental and safety considerations surrounding fireworks at similar lake festivals, no plans have been announced to replace or significantly alter this element of the festival.

The event, themed "A million dreams - Is that art or can that be removed?", started in the afternoon at the lakeside promenade and the city garden in Konstanz, with the program commencing at 6 pm on Klein Venedig. The festival grounds spanned approximately four kilometers along the lake shore, attracting an estimated 33,000 visitors.

The festival's organizer, Carina Speidel, attributes the price increase for this year's event to the rising costs of security measures. Online advance tickets for adults cost 25.90 euros, a two-euro increase from last year. Residents of Constance, however, were offered discounted tickets.

Throughout the festival, visitors could enjoy a variety of entertainment. Along Seestraße and in the city garden, there were jugglers, fire artists, street musicians, live bands playing jazz and pop, interactive activities, and a festival market. A waterski show and model boat presentations were also part of the programme.

The grand fireworks display, synchronized to music, was a joint presentation by the neighboring cities of Konstanz and Kreuzlingen. However, it could be the last one for the year, as the city of Konstanz plans to make the festival smaller and more regional from next year.

Mayor Uli Burchardt of Konstanz has suggested alternatives to the fireworks, such as laser shows, drone shows, or similar. But as of the latest information available, no such alternatives have been confirmed for the 2025 festival.

The police in Konstanz and Kreuzlingen concluded that the festival was a peaceful and beautiful family event with relatively few incidents.

For those interested in watching or promoting alternatives to fireworks, it might be worth monitoring official festival communications or local government announcements closer to the event date for any updates regarding environmental policies or new entertainment innovations.

During the event, attendees couldnotice diverseentertainment options, including jugglers, fire artists, street musicians, jazz and pop bands, interactiveactivities, and a market in the home-and-garden setting of the city garden and lakeside promenade. In the evening, the lifestyle spectacle of the grand fireworks display, synced to music, would take place along the lake shore, making it an unforgettable home-and-garden experience.
