Markets in Dundee expand with an influx of fresh produce and a strong sense of communal camaraderie
Dundee Fresh Grocery, a new addition to the Union Street, officially opened its doors to the public on August 21. The ribbon cutting ceremony was hosted by the Yates County Chamber of Commerce and attended by local leaders and supporters.
The project manager, Michael Carter, has worked tirelessly to bring this community-focused grocery store to life. Dundee Fresh Grocery's mission extends beyond groceries, aiming to create a strong community connection.
Located at 19 Union Street, the store offers both indoor and outdoor seating for customers, making it a perfect spot for a quick bite or a leisurely shopping experience.
The store's in-house kitchen prepares a variety of food options daily, including sandwiches, salads, baked goods, and hot breakfast and lunch specials. Shoppers can also find pantry staples, snacks, frozen foods, and household essentials.
Dundee Fresh Grocery also prides itself on offering a selection of locally sourced products such as eggs, meat, cheese, produce, and flowers. The store aims to make healthy food more accessible to the community.

On Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, the store is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., while on Sundays, it operates from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The store is closed on Tuesdays.
Deputy Mayor Judy Duquette spoke at the ceremony, praising the store's volunteers for their dedication and hard work. After the ceremony, guests toured the store, sampled baked goods, and met the team behind the project.
