Martinschule Kicks Off Year with Safety Vests for First Graders

Martinschule started the new school year with a special welcome event on September 16, 2025. Deputy Mayor Christian Hader and Principal Inga Dossenbach greeted the new students, who received bright yellow safety vests to ensure their visibility during their school commute, especially in darker months.

The safety vests were generously sponsored by AOK Bayern and Landesverkehrswacht Bayern. Notably, the local fire department also stepped in to support the initiative, providing vests for the first graders. The event saw representatives from the State School Office, Bamberg Traffic Safety Association, Bamberg City Police, and AOK Bamberg in attendance, demonstrating the community's commitment to child safety.

All first-graders at Martinschule started the year equipped with these high-visibility vests, a proactive measure to enhance their safety on their way to and from school.

The Martinschule's safety vest initiative, backed by local sponsors and community representatives, ensures that the school's first graders are well-equipped for their daily commute. The bright yellow vests aim to improve children's visibility, contributing to a safer school environment.
