Meeting Buddie the small blue elephant
Get ready for an exciting autumn holiday season as the city libraries have a host of activities lined up for children!
The Central Library, Elberfeld Library, Cronenberg Library, Barmen Library, and more will be hosting the "Coding with Elephant" activities, a project by WDR in cooperation with the Fachstelle for public libraries NRW and the Düsseldorf Regional Government.
The Story Train will make a stop at each library, where children aged two to five can play with a wooden train set, listen to stories, create their own, and continue them. It's a wonderful opportunity for little ones to engage with stories in a fun and interactive way.
For those who love robots, there will be sessions dedicated to racing them. However, please note that there will be no opportunities to play games or build with Lego during the holidays, as previously stated.
Fear not, for there are plenty of other activities to keep the little ones entertained. Children can craft beautiful items, create collages, and even participate in drive-in movie experiences with their Bobby Cars or balance bikes.
Meet library dog Buddie during the autumn holidays! It's a great chance for children to bond with our furry friend.
Some sessions require registration, which can be done at the libraries, by email, or phone. Participation in "Coding with Elephant" is free, but prior registration is required.
The "Coding with Elephant" app is available at the Central Library since September 1st and will start at Barmen Library on September 25th. Don't miss out on this digital adventure!
The program brochure for all autumn holiday activities at the city library is available for download. With so much to do, it's the perfect time to explore the city libraries and have a fantastic autumn holiday!
