Millennium Festival at Jubilee Year's Grain Mill Celebration
The Geismühle mill in Oppum celebrates its anniversary year, commencing with "Mill Day" on June 9th (Whit Monday) at 11 am. An ecumenical church service kicks off the festivities, followed by the distribution of mill bread. From midday until 5 pm, the historic mill, maintained by the Geismühle Building Association, will be open for visits.
The mill offers a captivating insight into technology spanning generations, appealing to both young and old. Prior to the main event on June 9th, the mill will also be open on June 1st from 2 to 5 pm, offering a complimentary drink to visitors.
Other special open days during the anniversary year include:- July 6th, 2 to 5 pm (treat of ice cream)- August 3rd, 2 to 5 pm (bratwurst with rolls)- September 7th, 2 to 5 pm (fresh waffles)- September 14th, 12 to 5 pm (Day of Open Heritage with souvenir action)- October 5th, 5 to 8 pm (evening illumination with warm soup)

As the mill prepares for a series of special events, the association is actively seeking volunteers to assist with maintenance and guided tours for schools, kindergartens, clubs, and corporations.
