"Münsterstraße welcomes back city furnishings as a temporary enhancement for local living standards"
Lünen, Germany, is set to redesign a section of Münsterstraße once more in 2025, following a successful temporary 'Stadtexperiment' in the summer of 2023.
The redesign, which will take place between Persiluhr and Kurt-Schumacher-Straße, is a continuation of the city's use of city furniture from the Zukunftsnetz Mobilität NRW. The city furniture installation, along with a traffic barrier, is scheduled to begin on September 8, 2025, and will continue until October 22, 2025.
During this period, access to the Münsterstraße section will only be possible via Kurt-Schumacher-Straße. Deliveries and exceptional cases can gain access with a borrowed three-point key. For inquiries regarding this matter, Paul Lux (02306 104-1827) can be contacted.
The traffic barrier will be installed at tree locations at Persiluhr during the redesign period. This installation is part of the redesign's overall aim to create a more pedestrian-friendly environment.
The redesign in 2023 was well received, as indicated by numerous positive feedbacks. Given this, it is expected that the 2025 redesign may also be met with approval.
For general inquiries, Holger Schmälzger (Zentrenmanagement, 02306 104-1210) can be reached. Further information about the measure and its evaluation can be found online at www.unser website/stadtexperiment.
It is worth noting that the reinstallation of city furniture in the Münsterstraße section in 2025 is a reoccurring event. The city furniture used in the 2025 redesign is the same as that used in the 2023 redesign.
However, at the time of writing, there is no information available about the contact person for questions regarding traffic legislation and the loan of the three-point key in Lünen from September 10 to October 22, 2025.
The redesign in 2025 is a continuation of the city's commitment to improving its urban spaces and promoting sustainable mobility solutions.
