Over 9 metric tons of trash and the felling of approximately 410 trees in Kazakhstan.
Dropping Knowledge on the Eco-Front: Turaqty Jol 6.0 Sweeps Kazakhstan
Stroll through any region or city in Kazakhstan, and you'll soon come across a lively team of individuals, young and old, armed with trash pickers and tree saplings. They're not zombies from a horror flick, but active participants in Turaqty Jol 6.0 - the latest nationwide eco-campaign that's got the country buzzing.
From Zero to Green Heroes
Over 4,000 eager volunteers took part in this spring's eco-blitz, not only beautifying their cities but also becoming part of a booming green movement for a clean and healthy environment. The events were designed to fire up environmental awareness within the population and get young guns pumped about sustainable development projects.
Eco-Partners Unite
Arnur Ibrayev, the Sustainable Development boss at Bank CenterCredit, enthusiastically shared his thoughts on the campaign: "Turaqty Jol is more than an ecological crusade; it's a movement that instills environmental responsibility and champions the propagation of sustainable development and conservation ideas in society. We at Bank CenterCredit are damn proud to be on board with this initiative, and we're stoked to see the escalating involvement of families and youth year over year. Let's face it, public engagement is crucial to the future of our cities and country."
Turaqty Jol is an educational program aimed at instilling a strong sense of pride in one's homeland in the younger generation by nurturing cultural, moral, and environmental values. This multi-partnered project, coordinated by the Kazakh National Federation of UNESCO Clubs, includes the general partner, Bank CenterCredit, the official partner, Chevron, and the eco-campaign partner, HP Global Trading B.V.
A Cleaner, Greener Tomorrow
The campaign enjoys the backing of local and federal authorities, including the akimats of regions and cities, the UNESCO and ISESCO National Commission of Kazakhstan, and the Almaty UNESCO Regional Office. The Almaty TV channel and Amanat Media Group were tapped as information partners to help spread the word.
Chevron and HP: Two Steps Ahead
Chevron's GM for Corporate Relations in the Eurasian division, Erkin Zikibaev, couldn't contain his excitement about being part of the Turaqty Jol 6.0 initiative: "By supporting this nationwide environmental drive, we aim to inspire communities across Kazakhstan to take action to safeguard our natural heritage. Alongside our partners and the brave Kazakhstani youth, we are planting the seeds for a greener and healthier future. Our collective efforts can bring about significant positive changes in the city, the nation, and beyond."
HP Inc Central Asia's General Director, Svetlana Vyrypaeva, echoed the sentiment: "Environmental responsibility isn't just a value; it's a crucial part of our corporate culture. Taking part in Turaqty Jol is a logical next step in our global commitment to sustainable development. Together, we don't just improve the environment; we're fostering a culture of caring, teamwork, and awareness."
Trash Transformed, Trees Triumphant
In all, over 9.8 tons of rubbish were gathered, and a whopping 410 tree saplings were planted across the nation during the first phase of Turaqty Jol 6.0. Recyclable trash like plastic, paper, and glass were sorted and handed off to local firms for reuse.
The Path Ahead
The future of Turaqty Jol 6.0 promises workshops, creativity-fueled events, and media communication seminars designed to engage even more young people in sustainable development practices. By 2025, organizers hope to host a Republic-wide Festival of Innovation and Creativity and an Environmental Media Camp to catalyze youth interest and innovation in eco-awareness efforts. The march toward a green, clean Kazakhstan is well underway, and it's one hell of a rally!
