Plant Fruit Trees for Just 10 Euros Each in Landshut's Biodiversity Boost

The City of Landshut's Environmental Office is offering property owners an exciting opportunity to enhance their green spaces while supporting local biodiversity and climate change adaptation. For just 10 euros each, residents can acquire up to three fruit trees, including posts and binding material.

The 'Streuobstaktion', part of the Bavarian Fruit Package, is carried out by the department for environmental, climate, and nature protection. Orders can be placed online at www.ourwebsite/streuobstaktion or by phone at 0871/881600 until October 10th. Trees are standard with a stem length of 1.40 to 1.80 meters and require a space of 10x10 meters. Delivery in November will be as bare-root plants, ready for immediate planting.

Available varieties include apples, pears, plums, cherries, sour cherries, walnut, and speierling. Each variety is limited, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Fruit trees not only provide fresh produce but also serve as habitats for rare and endangered animal species, becoming more valuable as they age.

The City of Landshut's Environmental Office encourages residents to participate in this initiative, promoting biodiversity and climate change adaptation within the city. By planting these fruit trees, property owners can contribute to a greener, more sustainable Landshut.
