Raucous Halloween festivities unfold at Lackford Lakes
Discover a thrilling and educational experience at Lackford Lakes this Halloween season! On October 28th and 29th, the Suffolk Wildlife Trust is hosting a series of spooky evening events, perfect for children aged 6 and above.
The event takes place at Lackford Lakes, a beautiful nature reserve that offers a unique setting for a night of adventure. With a variety of activities planned, you'll have the opportunity to create a tin can bug hotel, dissect owl pellets, go torch-lit bug hunting, use bat detectors, handle skulls, and even create clay creatures.
To navigate the event, a torch or lantern is essential, as it will be very dark. Dogs are allowed on Sayer's Breck path and Church Walk, but they are not permitted at the event itself. A hearing loop is available at the Centre to ensure accessibility for all visitors.
The route is relatively flat with no steep portions, and the hides are wheelchair accessible. However, please note that the blue trail may not be wheelchair accessible after poor weather. Attendees are encouraged to contact the event organizers before the event if they have specific accessibility needs.
Warm clothes and costumes are encouraged, as the event is held outdoors. Participants are also encouraged to bring a reusable cup for takeaway drinks.
The event's cafe and toilets will be open on the night, and parking information and bicycle parking details are available. The route invites participants to follow a trail and see the Lakes in a new way.
Tickets for both days can be booked on a specified webpage. All activities are included in the ticket price, although activities may be subject to change. For full event terms and conditions, visit the official event website.
If you're looking for more events, you can find information on the event's website. The centre at Lackford Lakes is wheelchair accessible, with the cafe and lower floor, including an accessible toilet at the front of the building, being fully accessible.
