Return Engagement: Pop-Up Camp Set for Next Week

The Sheridan County YMCA's Pop-Up Camp is back and better than ever, offering a unique camp experience every Wednesday evening at North Heights Park. The activities, which are free for both children and parents during the summer season, last for an hour and include games and camp-style activities.

One of the most popular games at the Pop-Up Camp is Ga-Ga Ball, a fast-paced and engaging game played inside an octagon-shaped court. This game, which is often featured at places like the Sheridan County YMCA's Pop-Up Camp, involves players hitting or rolling a lightweight ball with their hands with the objective of eliminating opponents by striking them with the ball below the knees. The simplicity of the rules, sometimes printed right on the ball, makes it easy to learn and inclusive for participants of all skill levels.

The ball used in Ga-Ga Ball is designed for safe play, with a tacky cover for controlled grip and quick throws. This makes it suitable for children and youth activities, encouraging movement, agility, and social interaction. It's no wonder that Ga-Ga Ball is a hit at camps and recreational centres like the Sheridan County YMCA's Pop-Up Camp.

The Pop-Up Camp is a partnership between the YMCA and The Food Group, and takes place at North Heights Park every week. The camp aims to provide a camp experience, with games designed to be fun and provide a sense of camaraderie. All children are welcome to attend, making it a great opportunity for kids to make new friends and enjoy some outdoor fun.

The Pop-Up Camp is currently on hiatus due to the WYO Rodeo, but will return next week. The YMCA organizes and operates the fun activities and games at the Pop-Up Camp, and even provides nutritious meals and snacks for children in Sheridan. In addition, Dairy Queen has made generous donations to the YMCA Pop-Up camps, helping to ensure that the children have a enjoyable and nourishing experience.

North Heights Park is located across the street from the intersection of North Heights Drive and North Heights Road, making it easily accessible for families in the area. So, mark your calendars and join the Sheridan County YMCA's Pop-Up Camp for a fun-filled evening of games and camp-style activities. Whether you're a fan of Ga-Ga Ball or just looking for a way to spend some quality time outdoors, the Pop-Up Camp is the perfect place to be.

After the WYO Rodeo, the Sheridan County YMCA's Pop-Up Camp will resume, offering a fun-filled evening of games and outdoor-living activities every week at North Heights Park. Home-and-garden enthusiasts can join in on the fun, as the Pop-Up Camp also provides a great opportunity for kids to appreciate the beauty of nature and engage in outdoor-living activities.
