Saturday Action: Comfort Zone's Shadow Unveiled

The Simmel-Center in Dresden is set for a transformation, with two new ventures set to open their doors in the coming weeks.

Firstly, Action, a popular non-food discount store, is making a move to the upper floor of the Simmel-Center, taking over the former Medimax store. Action's Managing Director, Heiko Großner, expresses his excitement about the new location, promising a store that offers more than 6,000 products from 14 categories, including decoration, DIY, toys, multimedia, household items, garden and outdoor products, personal care, fashion, and home textiles. The grand opening of the new Action store is scheduled for Saturday, September 20th.

Meanwhile, across the street, a new fitness studio called Comfort Zone is taking shape in the former DDR Museum. The studio, run by Laura Wollermann and Philipp Müller-Rausch, will offer a range of fitness activities for locals. The team on site will consist of 15 to 20 full-time and part-time employees, with additional staff still being sought. The Comfort Zone has announced its arrival on Instagram, inviting potential members to follow for updates.

Interestingly, the former DDR Museum, now home to the Comfort Zone, still holds a piece of history in its basement—the last Trabant. Despite the museum's vehicle collection being sold off, the iconic Trabi remains part of the collection, adding a touch of nostalgia to the new fitness studio.

Elsewhere in the Simmel-Center, Peter Simmel is enjoying the Jawa exhibit at the new location of the DDR Museum. The exhibit is already in place, offering visitors a unique glimpse into the past.

It's an exciting time for the Simmel-Center, with its new stores promising to provide customers with a pleasant shopping experience and central, accessible locations. Whether you're in need of a new fitness routine or looking to stock up on household essentials, the Simmel-Center has you covered.
