Scouting Magazine Celebrates 100 Years by Digitizing Every Issue

Scouting magazine, a long-standing publication serving the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), is celebrating its 100th anniversary in a unique way. It has partnered with the University of North Texas Digital Projects Unit to digitize every one of its issues, dating back to its inception in 1913.

The National Scouting Museum has contributed its collection to this project, including early editions. Once digitized, these issues will be available online for visitors to search, zoom, and read. This will allow anyone to explore the rich history of Scouting, from its early years to the present day.

With over 900 issues published, the magazine has been a vital resource for BSA's adult leaders and volunteers. Now, thanks to this collaboration, that wealth of information and nostalgia will be easily accessible to all.

Scouting magazine's centennial anniversary marks a significant milestone in the BSA's history. By digitizing its complete run, the magazine ensures that its stories, photos, and insights will continue to inspire and educate new generations of Scouting enthusiasts.
