Second chance for breakfast enthusiasts in CNY: Expanded café, Double the Space, Maintains Flamboyant Breakfast Offerings

The popular breakfast spot, Second Chance Diner, has moved to a new location in Camillus, NY, marking a significant step in its growth journey. The new home, formerly Good Buddy's Pub, is now Second Chance Diner's third location[1].

The move comes in response to customer feedback expressing the need for a larger space due to long wait times at the diner's previous location[1]. The new location nearly doubles the seating capacity, accommodating 200 people inside, 80 on a patio, and featuring a 45-person banquet room and a 45-foot-long bar[1].

Second Chance Diner's menu continues to delight customers with favourites like corned beef hash, scratch-made biscuits and gravy, and over-the-top pancakes[1]. New additions to the menu include fluffy biscuits smothered in sausage gravy, honey butter pancakes topped with lemon zest and blueberry compote, and freshly made corned beef hash by a local butcher[1].

The kitchen at the new location is five times larger than the previous one, allowing for increased efficiency and the ability to cater to more customers[1]. The renovations have transformed the former sports bar into a bright, airy diner[1].

Second Chance Diner's new location also offers a liquor license, enabling customers to enjoy beer, cocktails, and mimosa flights alongside their breakfast[1]. The coffee served at the diner is roasted by McCullagh, a company that has been in business since 1867[1].

Eddie DePalma, the owner of Second Chance Diner, expressed his satisfaction with the new location and hopes that the expansion will help him accommodate more customers and reduce long wait times[1]. The diner's hours of operation remain the same: Monday-Friday 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.[1]

The expansion of Second Chance Diner to a larger space, formerly Good Buddy's Pub, not only houses a 45-foot-long bar and a 45-person banquet room but also favors the 'lifestyle' of their customers by reducing wait times, thanks to the five times larger kitchen. The new location also introduces a 'food-and-drink' aspect by offering cocktails, mimosa flights, and beer, along with locally roasted coffee from McCullagh. Additionally, the new menu includes new items like sausage-smothered biscuits, lemon-zest honey butter pancakes, and fresh corned beef hash, promising a delightful 'home-and-garden' setting with the renovated, bright, and airy diner ambiance.
